The Sheffield Orchid Society is hosting Phil Seaton on Sunday 5 May, at 10 am in St John’s Church Hall, Abbeydale Road South, S17 3LE.
The topic of Phil’s talk is an account of various, often very different, orchid conservation projects in the Americas, beginning in the Florida Everglades and ending in Chile, taking in Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil. Seeing how orchids grow in their natural habitats has much to teach us about how to grow them here in the UK. There will be a strong emphasis on education and community involvement. I will also talk a little about the role of the Millennium Seed Bank.
Everyone is welcome, we only ask for a £2 donation to help towards Hall hire and speaker costs.
